If a new leak turns out to be true, thenDoctor Strange 2is going to be one of the longest-running Marvel Studios movies that have ever been released. That’s no small feat when you consider that MCU movies are often pretty long.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis due out later this spring and while more details are coming out here and there, the movie still has quite a few mysteries to unveil. Among those mysteries is justwho is going to be appearing inDoctor Strange 2. Now it appears that people might be able to find out just how long this new movie is going to last.

According to theDoctor Strange 2’s listing with Brazilian ticketer Ingresso,the Sam Raimi filmis going to have a runtime of 148 minutes. If the listing is to be believed, then the two-hour and 28-minute length would effectively tieSpider-Man: No Way Homefor the fourth-longest entry in the MCU. OnlyAvengers: Infinity War,Avengers: EndgameandEternalshave longer runtimes.
The first two movies on that rather short list make sense in that they were always meant to tell a very long story that wrapped up the Avengers era of the MCU.Eternalswas introducing brand-new characters who had never been seen as part of the MCU before, so that movie’s long runtime makes some sense as well. It could even be argued thatNo Way Homewas as long as it was because it too was wrapping up the storyline of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessdoes not appearto be wrapping up a storyline or franchise. In fact, if recent history is any indication, there will be at least one more film in the sorcerer’s movie franchise before Marvel Studios is done with him.
On the other hand, the movie will be introducing at leastone new character in America Chavez. Raimi has previously said she is quite instrumental in how the film goes. It’s possible that at least some of that apparent two hours and 28 minutes will be devoted to a kind of origin story for her. Of course, for now, just how long the movie will run has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios. It’s entirely possible that Ingresso used that time as a placeholder or was simply incorrect. It stands to reason a more concrete answer on just how long the movie will run is coming soon.
