Marvel’s Avengers' player community is incessant about sharing concepts and designs for how its user experience could be more efficient and beneficial for players.Marvel’s Avengers' considerably rocky experienceis marred by an insistence on its marketplace economy and RPG progression, which force players to either grind for requisite upgrades or succumb to its pay-to-win structure.
Lately, fans have been sharing their concerns and wishes through a new meme format that relates to a larger Marvel property, theMarvel’s What If…?seriesthat launched on the Disney+ streaming service. WithMarvel’s What If…?as a template, a fan is now employing the Disney+ series title to suppose what would happen in an alternate universe where their improvements toMarvel’s Avengersmight actually occur.

Qushu92 proposes, “What If…Hulk Could Jump High?” as an indictment onMarvel’s Avengers' leashed traversal restrictions. Qushu92 advocates for these restrictions to be lifted so that players could run and leap with proportions sufficient for each respective character, such as Hulk being capable of bounds that enable him to soar through the environment. Oselote360 puts forth a similar question with, “What if…Iron Man could fly fast?”, to which Qushu92 also wishes it were true and Iron Man’s flight was unrestricted in scenarios where players can roam freely.
Further, Qushu92 ponders the question, “What If…The Kree Were An Actual Threat?” with regard to the Kree’s involvement inMarvel’s Avengersbeing tied to QTEs against a sentry, but no actual Kree themselves. This concern stems from a lack of antagonists and supervillains that players are able to encounter, with many players soured by the number of AIM hordes that are battled instead. But because the Kree are remanded toMarvel’s Avengers' initial campaignas a final boss through QTEs, it is understandable that their inclusion has disappointed fans.

Qushu92 then looks towardMarvel’s Avengers' progression systemand asks, “What If…The Champion Levels Were More Than Percent Increases?” Indeed, while the graphical overhaul for UI and UX has been implemented withMarvel’s Avengers' War for Wakanda expansion, there are still many gripes that players have with how progression is sustained. The issue that many players as well as Qushu92 have with Champion Levels in particular is that they are simply “stat boosts” that have no relative impact on any specific character.
Qushu92’scomplaints aboutMarvel’s Avengersare representative of many other fans' issues.Marvel’s What If…?presents a humorous format for Qushu92 to share these concerns and wishes for the game, particularly because it is unlikely that these robust changes and desires will make it intoMarvel’s Avengersanytime soon.
Marvel’s Avengersis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
