During the game’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the voice actor and developer revealed how the horror icon was cast in the role. Arguments have been made thatTony Todd is the perfect voice for Venom, and the people behind the game seem to agree. According to Bryan Intihar,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s creative director, the newCandymanfilm was a big inspiration for the casting. “I just happened to be on the internet one day listening to the newCandymantrailer, and I heard Tony, and I was like, ‘If I could get like a Tony Todd. That would be the one.'” Later on, the game’s Dialog Lead revealed that Tony Todd was interested, resulting in a quick audition before the actor was cast in the role.
Before taking on the role of Venom, the actor was already a horror icon. Tony Todd is perhaps best known for his role as the foreverunderappreciated Candymanin the film of the same name. The actor would go on to reprise the role for the film’s two direct sequels and the 2021 reboot/sequel titledCandyman.The actor has also done a fair share of voice-over work which includes credits in films, television shows, and video games, and has voiced several video game characters in the past. Now the actor will be adding Venom to his already impressive resume.

It’s not entirely clear who will be the host for the alien creature, but it is apparent that Peter Parker will be its host at some point beforehand.
