With newOverwatchcontent limited to seasonal events and the skins within them until the sequel arrives, it is hardly surprising that a lot of fans are focusing on the game’s cosmetics. While plenty of the official outfits have been celebrated by fans, otherOverwatchplayers have come up with their own designs.

While there have been plenty of skin concepts in the past, like Hellboy Lucio and a rich version of Roadhog, plenty of new outfit designs have been shared over the past few weeks. One conceptturned D.Va into an alienfrom outer space, with her mech being a cross between a cow and a UFO. Another saw Wrecking Ball getting into the holiday spirit, with the Hamster dressing as Santa and his mech becoming a sleigh. Now, Redditor CornyLope has done something just as unique with their Junkrat skin concept.

While thedefault appearance of Junkratis already pretty apocalyptic, something pointed out by commenter Doinkert, this design takes things in a different direction. Instead of theMad Max-like look seen with Junkrat’s normal attire, CornyLope gives the hero an Apocalypse outfit with some bug-like qualities. Some antennae can be seen sticking out of the explosives expert’s forehead, while a bug’s head is present on his Rip-Tire. Lastly, the bottom of his cloak is torn so that it looks like a pair of wings.

This led to Redditor 2point0777 jokingly dubbing the skin “JunkRoach,” a name that CornyLope seemed to love. Aside from the bug-like qualities, theJunkrat fangives the hero a new haircut. Instead of his wild, singed hair, this version of the character sports some short spiky locks. Colored purple, they match the overall aesthetic of the skin, as different shades of purple are seen throughout the outfit. Junkrat’s metal arm is yellow and pink, as is the hero’s prosthetic leg. With the color palette being so different from the one that is usually used for Junkrat’s skins, the outfit would be a memorable addition if it ever became official.

With other details like a scarf around his neck, a gas mask, and some spiky armor on his shoulder, there are plenty of little touches fortheOverwatchcommunityto appreciate. Unsurprisingly, it has gotten plenty of praise thus far. Key_Koi commented that they “need this skin in the game,” while jelleu told CornyLope that it was a “really cool design.” While some fans did have some constructive criticism, too, all were positive on the fan’s creation overall.

Whilethe wait forOverwatch 2to releasewill likely be a long one, artistic fans are certainly keeping themselves busy with fan art and skin concepts. If Junkrat ends up getting a skin in the upcoming Winter Wonderland event, hopefully it is as memorable as this fan-made one.
